Friends by the Sea

With Christmas around the corner, we’re taking advantage of every opportunity to spend time with loved ones, friends and family. This weekend we found ourselves near Newport, California in a cozy cottage by the sea. We are dying over our sweet friends home, it’s screams year round Nautical chic! It’s impossible to have a bad day in this quaint harbor home filled with laughter and love. Football on the TV, hot coco in the kitchen, and snuggled up in our favorite new SisterBag winter wear…Our hearts are so content and full, this has definitely been the best holiday season thus far!

-dressed in white-

I am still day dreaming about the afternoon I spent at Blush Bridal Couture. Blush is located in Tustin CA, owned by my sweet friends Anna Earlywine and Amy Santoro, these ladies have great style and are so loving that their store oozes their wonderful vibe. I brought some of my bridesmaids and my mother, which was a big deal. My parents were visiting from Korea where they are currently stationed, so I had to jump on the chance to try on wedding dresses. I wanted that “mother/daughter moment” of her seeing me in a wedding dress for the first time… oh wait, she has seen me in a wedding dress… on national tv! Sorry mom! This time was the real deal and I was a bit more sober ๐Ÿ˜‰

I went into the appointment without the expectation of finding THE dress… I mean, I had only been engaged for two weeks and I had no idea yet what I wanted in a dress. Do I go tight and lacy or silky and flowy?? The options are endless! Thankfully, my wedding planner Hailey Erin Silver advised me to enjoy the moment, don’t over think it and just have fun.. so I did! As soon as my appointment started, the assistant Stephanie made me feel comfortable and sat us down on a pretty couch. She offered us champagne and cookies… I thought to myself “Uh oh, champagne and wedding dresses… where’s Chris Harrison?” But don’t worry folks, I redeemed myself quite nicely so no shenanigans from this girl… well kinda ๐Ÿ™‚

Stephanie asked me questions about our venue, what my colors are, what feel am I going for and my budget. I told her I wanted something fun but romantic and she did not disappoint! Stephanie pulled a bunch of dresses for me to try on… I was like a kid in a candy store!

Here are a couple of the dresses I tried on:

Matthew Christopher, name of the dress is called “Amelie”

Essense of Australia “D1541”

They were all beautiful, but not the perfect one for me…

6 dresses later…
To my surprise I found the ONE! The girls started crying and my mom and I had our “moment.” It was perfect!

That is all I will say, no spoilers here… you will have to wait a year. We are saying “I do” on 11/7/2015. I am counting down the days… no really, ask Karl and he’ll tell you ๐Ÿ™‚
